that's a minor detail on a lts version and users will switch to jaunty
soon the ubuntu-desktop team prefers to focus on jaunty now but you are
welcome to work on that though

I am confirming this bug is in intrepid, restoring file from trash adds
lock to icon and filename is not editable. There is no way to unlock
from the properties window. Please backport fix to intrpid.

- Don't show desktop files from other desktops than Gnome on the desktop
- Support crossfades of desktop backgrounds
- Don't snap desktop icons outside right margin
the bug has been fixed upstream now

I'm looking into this problem; for some reason the desktop is not
clearing the attributes on the file when they're restored from trash; it
only happens on the desktop directory from what I've seen, so it's
probably a deeper architectural problem in nautilus (something to do
with

I can confirm this exact same behaviour on my system.
Not a big deal but that's part of all the little that make the Ubuntu / gnome
experience not as good as it should be
