Yes, I believe it was solved about two updates after I filed the bug.

I have also a HP Deskjet 3320! Before I can use my web interface from
cups, I must add the cups userso i searched the whole day for this bug!
Now my printer also doesn't work. I Have tested the driver from
linuxprinting.org
and from the foomatic package! I get the error :
$ dpkg -S /usr/share/ppd/hpijs/HP/HP-DeskJet_3320-hpijs.ppd
hplip-ppds: /usr/share/ppd/hpijs/HP/HP-DeskJet_3320-hpijs.ppd
So, hplip-ppds whould be a right package. It should allready be
installed, if you have ubuntu-desktop package installed.

The HP DeskJet 3320 is supported with HPLIP 0.9.7 which is included
with ubuntu. I have verified that it was included with the HPIJS 1.3
release (which was a long time ago).
Also keep in mind that HPLIP 0.9.7 is terribly old...*nudge*

HP and HP (HPLIP) have been merged a while ago, this will most likely solve
your problem.
I'm using Dapper 20060521. The HP DeskJet 3320 hpijs driver is listed on my
system.
Please check again after updating your dapper to the recent updates.
