I've attached updated version of dia.desktop.
It contains several fixes:
- It doesn't specify .png in icon name (.desktop files shouldn't according to
specification),
- it contains GenericName fields,
- it contains polish translation.

Yep, it's still there on Edgy. I don't know what's so hard about fixing this
bug, I mean this is low hanging fruit after all and should take about ten
minutes to fix.
FWIW, I'm attaching the dia.desktop file I made. Just drop it in
/usr/share/applications until this bug gets fixed.

Hi,
Alright, I added a .desktop file for dia to /usr/share/applications, and
dia shows right up in the menus. So, just add the .desktop file to the
package. Or even better, add the .desktop file and everything related
(pixmaps etc.) to the dia-common package. Thanks :-)

I also do not have dia showing up in my menus (ie. the Xfce Applications menu).
I'm running an up-to-date Xubuntu Dapper, with dia 0.94.0-17.1ubuntu2
installed. Since this is Xubuntu, I want to avoid installing dia-gnome.

Thanks for your bug report? Do you have dia installed or dia-gnome? Are
you talking about a dia.menu or a dia.desktop? For the 'menu' to show up
you need the 'menu' package installed. 'dia-gnome' ships a .desktop file
which shows up in the normal menu nicely.
