Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When trying to attach large files (in my case usually mp3 audio files)
evolution chokes; cpu spikes up to 100% while memory usage rises to
~400M+. I've let it spin for up to about half an hour; usually it
continues, though sometimes it will crash definitively.

At first thought it might be
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/21178 ,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/443028 or
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/393534, but in my case the
freeze happens on SEND, not immediately on attaching the file. I doubt
it's a theme-related or pure gtk bug.

Please let me know what i should do, especially since it's not always
easy to get evolution to crash properly. Thanks much!
