Binary package hint: gnome-media
See the attached image from a screen shot.
In this example, a panel background color of a mid gray is chosen on the
basis of being a good medium background colour against which bright,
dark, or hues can be rendered. The icon for gnome-volume-control-applet
is poorly visible.
A solution is to include a border for the lines in the icon so the icon
is well visible independent of what the user has for a panel background
colour.
