Rhythmbox works fine for me once I manually disable the mtpdevice plugin using gconf-editor (/apps/rhythmbox/plugins/mtpdevice uncheck active) or manually remove the mtpdevice plugin from the plugin directory (/usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins/mtpdevice). This isn't a fix perse, but it would at least

I completely removed (purged) rhythmbox, its plugins, and everything that was autoremovable after removing rhythmbox and its plugins, then I reinstalled rhythmbox and plugins. Now rhythmbox works just fine for me. -- rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc()
