I'd say that it's not okay to just select a file when dealing with mbox,
because the Evo text states that it May also be used to read a tree of
Elm, Pine or Mutt style folders, which also includes mboxes at least in
the case of Mutt.

This isn't just an evo bug. The problem is that camel tells evo that it
needs only a path, it dosen't specify that it specifically wants a file
or a folder. I'm not sure if thats an oversight or if its deliberate.
Quickfix would be to replace the folder chooser with a text box, proper
fix is to

selector for the mbox mode too and in that case that's not sure you want
to pick a folder
