I'm not entirely certain this is a g-v-c issue, actually. The problem seems to stem in part from the fact that the driver reveals a Playback cap for your Line - perhaps this is inappropriately named and should be Line-In, which is rather doubtful, but you didn't paste the rest of your amixer
