I'm a bit disappointed. The upstream bug is from may 2005 and also this bug is
classified as wishlist meaning it has a very low priority (lowest?). We are
talking about useability (people switching over from Windows for example) where
it is expected these things just work.

There is over a thousand of nautilus bugs open upstream, a number of
them a crashers, other can lead to data lost, other are pretty annoying,
etc. There is plenty of way to copy a folder though from the sidebar or
without using the sidebar, so right your bug is only a really minor one
on the list
