Every time I try to cut (or copy) and paste a file in Nautilus, it
crashes and the file does not get moved or copied. It does not matter if
I use the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + C, Ctrl V) or the edit menu
commands. I get the following messages in syslog, messages and
UPDATE: I tracked this down to a third party app that when disabled,
stopped the repeatable crashing of nautilus. Safe to say the third part
app is responsible, couldn't work out how to close this bug myself.

language of Japanese and a USA/Dvorak layout (only one keyboard layout).
Adding a USA/Default layout and moving it up and down and clicking on

There is a situation where a focus conflict seems to arise. When this
happens, I can't change anything or enter the required password. The
only thing that is possible is moving to another terminal and killing

fonts gets better. I think that character are anyway antialiansinged (see

After reporting that this bug also occurs on my machine (2008-06-04) I
deactivated the Desktop Effects, which prevented the crashes in my case.
Just out of curiosity I re-activated the Desktop Effects again today,
and guess what: the problem did not occur any more! I'm not saying the
bug is fixed

Crashed using the 0801.4602 file in the description in Hardy (with -proposed
repo enabled).
Apport can not analyze the .crash file on my computer (not enough free memory).

You're right; if I use the unmodified gvfs-backends package from hardy-
updates, then I don't see this problem with AD authentication - it's
only introduced when I apply Paul's patch.
I do have an updated version of that patch which restores correct
behavior in AD environments.
