[Bug 88413] Re: Evolution freezes while loading emails on IMAP
Running from a terminal, while it's frozen there's a message like this every few seconds: Saving 19/19 dirty records of INBOX/archive/cs (evolution:13641): camel-imap-provider-WARNING **: Unable to load summary no such table: INBOX/archive/dreamhost This seems to occur for every one of my many many imap folders, so I'm not sure if evolution is actually frozen, or just taking an incredible amount of time doing something. [Bug 296422] Re: Nautilus crashes when dragging file to ftp bookmark
I've just done that, and reproduced the disappearing behaviour in Nautilus. One thing, i was wrong about it saying 'Starting FTP', it was actually saying 'Starting File Browser'. (then disappears.) I reproduced the problem exactly as i describe to you * twice* and then had al look in the /var/crash directory immediately and both times the directory was completely empty. Just to make sure i had a look with a terminal not just Nautilus in case files were hidden or something. It's quite fustrating because the cursor goes into a 'wait' cursor and you can't do anything while Nautilus is waiting for something. (then it disappears). Sorry i can't give any more help here. Re: [Bug 295754] Re: Rearranging External Tools erases tool data
Hello, I apologise for being vague... It was not my intention. Steps are as follows: I open GEdit - Tools - External Tools In the left hand pane, where I see the titles of all 'installed' external tools, I noticed I can rearrange the items to show up in such order within the Tools main tool bar list. I select an item in the list of external tools installed, let's say Build. When I drag and drop it in the new order desired within the list, let's say 'New 1' and drag it elsewhere, let's say AFTER 'New 2', I instantly can verify (by clicking on 'New 1') that all the details on the right side of the window, showing the commands, etc. are clear. If I close the Tools window and reopen it, I now see 'New 1' showing up as 'new-1', still without any data on the details of the tool. 'New 2' and any other external tools are perfectly fine and still functional. Also, as it turns out, no matter how I choose to rearrange the listing with the Tools - External Tools option, it doesn't actually effect the order they show up in the window Tools. Ha! So, I expected: A) that rearranging the listings in Tools - External Tools actually rearranged the list of tools within the Tools drop down; and, B) that by doing so (moving a listing in the order of the External Tools right pane) it not remove all data relevant to that entry. If a screenshot is still desired, I can send one, but I think it's simple and clear enough that one is not necessary. [Bug 205999] Re: Attachments names using ç are not correctly sent by Evolution (ATTnumber .dat)
@Holger: I am not sure why you could not get the updates... perhaps 'apt-get dist-upgrade' would do the trick. Good to know it is working for you -- but it did not work for me and effenberg0x0 :-(. One reason I see is -- somehow, yet unknown reasons -- you get your encoding as UTF-8, and both of us get it as ISO-8859-1. This may have something to do with our Linux setup. Anyway, we are still discussing this upstream, so the fix is still in test. [Bug 99038] Re: Redraw trouble
I started having this same problem when I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid. I tend to run into the bug when using vim, especially when searching for text. When I enter a search term and hit enter, nothing changes on the screen (it doesn't redraw). Clicking on the title bar causes the screen to redraw, and display the expected text. Sometimes I get a partial redraw of the window; this usually occurs wherever the terminal window overlaps (is on top of) another window. The rest of the window doesn't redraw. In any of these cases, hitting Control-L doesn't fix the problem -- it seems to be unaffected by keystrokes or any output from the terminal. Only clicking the title bar consistently redraws the window. -- Redraw trouble https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 296494] [NEW] Gconf: Ekiga ignores port settings for SIP made with gconf-editor
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gconf I am running 8.10 Desktop on an Intel quad core with Linux 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP (x86_64 GNU/Linux). I want to run ekiga on the same box that I run Asterisk. Asterisk is a VOIP PBX that listens on port 5060 for incoming SIP connections. Ekiga is a soft phone that listens on port 5060 for incoming SIP calls forwarded by its PBX (Asterisk). To deconflict, Ekiga must listen on port 5061 (or some other port) and Asterisk must know to forward calls on that port for the local softphone. I set port=5061 in the asterisk sip.conf file to allow it to forward calls to port 5061 when destined for the local softphone. I typed: sudo gconf-editor Clicked on -- apps -- ekiga -- protocols -- sip and changed listen_port to 5061 I closed out and opened up again. The setting was saved to the Gnome xml settings file. However, ekiga -d 2 gives the following output: 2008/11/10 15:22:05.605 0:01.187ekiga PV4L2Plugin detected device metadata at /sys/class/video4linux/ 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga Listen Error in UDP listen: Address already in use 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga Listen Could not start any UDP listeners 2008/11/10 15:22:05.674 0:01.256ekiga OpalEP Could not start listener: udp$10.1.1.135:5060 2008/11/10 15:22:05.808 0:01.390ekiga AVAHI Error initializing Avahi: %sDaemon not running Ekiga gives an error warning: SIP calls not possible. Port not available. Meanwhile the above debug output shows that Ekiga is trying to listen on port 5060, not port 5061. This means that ekiga is not using the settings changed with gconf-editor. Please note that I changed the UDP port range with gconf-editor and it ignored that too. Also, I tried to change the settings without using sudo, but get schema instead of a value for the keys and cannot change anything. Finally, I have reinstalled and retried to no avail. I also turned off the avahi-daemon, but nothing... This may be a separate manifestation of the bug reported in #203877. Other functionality appears to still work properly, though it might be nice for alacarte to jump to the menu entry that it just reverted via the undo (particularly in multiple undo operations). ** Tags added: verification-done ** Tags removed: verification-needed -- undo does not work on deleted items https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225941 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to alacarte in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please indicate which version of Ubuntu you are currently using. After explicitly following your instructions I was unable to recreate your bug on Ubuntu 8.10 or 8.04.1. The expected behavior you described was the result I obtained. Re: [Bug 295853] Re: screenshot tool saves files without an extension
thats strange. i took a screenshot when running from the live cd (of ubuntu 8.10). it took a screenshot, and it dod not have the .png at the end. to replicate: 1. open up something 2. press alt+print screen to take a screenshot of the current window 3. the Name box will be empty. enter a name (such as test) 4. click save and it does not add the .png ... thats weird, i just tried it again, and it turns out that sometimes, it does automatically fill out the name for you. a few seconds ago, when i tried it, the Name box was empty by default. also, something weird happens if you try to save the screenshot without entering a name. try it.
