When this bug originally occured, I did not have totem-xine installed.
It seems to be unecessary to install a totem gstreamer mime type desktop
when Movie Player already has gstreamer installed by default and uses
that. The choice between Movie Player and Movie Player (gstreamer) is
no real choice
The application crashed 10min after logging in here. Using Intrepid 5
kernel 32bit.

This would probably need to involve the metafiles. I am guessing if
somehow there is a way of listening for changes on the users'
file://.../Desktop.xml file see what the changes are and if it is newly
added then set a new position for the item. Followed by sending a
notification to Nautilus.
