Ah, thanks a lot for tracking this down. Apport does nothing else than
subprocess.call(['gnome-open', url])
thus apport does not do any quoting at all. So it seems that gnome-open
itself does the double-quoting. I guess this affects opening other URLs
as well.

not quote the substitution again (prefered, since that would unbreak
existing broken configurations) or whether it is a Firefox bug and

When inserting such a CD in Feisty, I get a question about 'Play

This had been a long standing issue in udev that has been fixed just
recently. Can you please upgrade your system to the latest Feisty

Erik, bug fixes are not features, it's perfectly reasonable to backport
fixes from upstream. Do you have a GITweb URL or a patch handy? Please
also test this, I can't (I don't have the hardware).
