If you don't want to downgrade Firefox you can simply change the allowed
versions by editing the following file:
/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/mozilla.py
Change the max ff version in line 36 to
MAX_FF_VERSION = [3, 1, 0, 0] # exclusively
for example

some updates. I tried to reproduce the crash like it is described here -
without success.

You can reproduce this if you drag drop two items from one menu to
another without waiting for the refresh which needs about 1 second. With
refresh I mean: view changes to the menu where the item was moved to.
For example if I move an item from menu wine to menu games the list
on the right side
Ok, I found the way to force it:
- open a nautilus window (change from home to another directory)
- open a second nautilus window (don't change directory)
- resize the second window
- click on a file in the second window and move it - crash

As RonzO wrote, the keyboard doesn't respond any more. I tried to change
to a terminal with Alt+F1 or F2 yesterday but it did not work.

Do you mean that you can't access this format now or you will not be
able to access it in future?
Maybe you should think about releasing a version which just uses the
search engines from firefox. At least for me this would be enough. :-)
The workaround I posted above works for the search

Even though mp3 is not officially supported I think it's very bad that this bug
is not fixed for over two (2!!) years.
I understand the reasons to not officially support mp3 but it's a
quasi-standard in the digital world.
Does anybody work on this bug any more? Or will we have it still in
