There's at least one upgrade related issue remaining that should be
resolved.
After installing bluez package and then trying to purge bluez-utils package,
the following error occurs:
update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/bluetooth exists during rc.d purge (use -f to force)
dpkg: error processing bluez-utils
Okay, I'll give a go to the obex-data-server in the bluetooth PPA then.

Sorry, I didn't notice debian/patches/06_allow_eject_drive.patch is

There seems to be no way to safely remove an ipod using GUI in Hardy as
umount leaves the device in Do not disconnect state. Using eject from
console safely removes the hardware. This is regression from earlier
releases and will probably lead to a corrupt song database.

Here's a debdiff to drop 03_disable_browse_menu.patch and gnome-vfs-
obexftp dependency. For someone who is sponsoring this request, would it
be possible to fix bug #196319 as well? Current bluez-gnome package is
now a native package even though version numbering suggests otherwise.

Upstream trunk is currently very active regarding to gfvs backends,
obexftp as well. gvfsd-obexftp segfaults for me too with current Ubuntu
svn snapshot, but running svn snapshot from yesterday has fixed the
segfaults I had.
