thank you for your bug report, the gnome-panel didn't change recently
though, what did you update? do you get the issue user a new user
configuration? do you use non standard applets or did you changes to
your configuration before getting the bug?

Strangely, I think this may actually be related to Parallels. I just
realized that this seems to happen shortly after opening Parallels. It
is pretty unstable on Hardy, and I think whatever corruption it is
causing is manifesting this way. I would forget this bug. I do not think
it is really
closing the bug since that's not an ubuntu gnome-panel one
