I created a temporary solution to the problem by creating a folder
called inbox. Then I went to the main menu of evolution, clicked on edit
message filters then changed my incoming mail rules to download the
emails to my new folder. Then my system started retreiving emails form
my host server.
I'm getting that all the time, with both Banshee and Rhythmbox.

The problem is that the setup.py tries to parse the version number from
the first line of the debian/changelog file, however the first three

I removed gvfs-backends (nothing seemed to depend on it) and Thunar
seems to now be working...

If it's slow using nautilus and not from the command-line, then this may
be nautilus's handling of displaying the files. Don't forget it needs to
do more things than other applications to display even just the list of
files. Image thumbnails, etc.
