Yes, the one that come with the 12.04 install freezes all up. I can't
even get rid of it..I just try not to touch it. However, I added via
terminal another force-quit and it works fine. They just need to add the
working one to the install package - or make that one install properly.

a search lead me here. Andof course I then found the helpful workaround
... which I wrote two years ago and had forgotten about.

That update makes eog segfault on start when run without argument,
marking the bug as verification-failed ... can we get it rejected from
the proposed serie? The same bug was in saucy and fixed recently, that
fix should probably be backported to the raring serie as well

I also have this problem.
In detail, I downloaded the hplip-3.13.6.run installer and followed the
installation instructions (that is, just execute sh hplip-3.13.6.run) but
after a while, maybe just at the end of the installation procedure, I got the
following message:
