Running irw does nothing, running it a second time gives Connection
The Menu key is still not working as a layout switch (I'm using the
Menu keys for this purpose for more than 15 years both in console and
XWindow System and it will be hard for me to change this habit).
The Menu key is accepted by the 'Text Entry Settings' dialog and
displayed there as Next Group
I updated some things from saucy-proposed for another bug and the
behavior disappeared. I updated the following packages :
gnome-control-center
gnome-control-center-data
libindicator7
My guess as to which one fixed it would be gnome-control-center ;)

Add Unity Quicklist support
Status in Light-Weight Text Editor for
system-config-printer seems to open the same configuration dialog with
similar results.
Now the progress bar of Installing driver gutenprint dialog gets stuck
in the halfway. I think that it happened also before. However, before
this phase I saw a system error about system-config-printer.py

The power supply on my CPU went bad. when I replaced it and first
booted, everything looked fine, and I would get the login screen. In a
few minutes the screen would go blank. If I quickly logged in, the same
thing would happen. After a few minutes the screen would go blank.
