Adam Bruce, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If

After bug 1157614 was fixed, I longer get any crashes so maybe it's

and I have plymouth-debug and Xorg from a boot that goes to black screen
with mouse.

With the latest updates I have booted by computer 10 times and seen no
crashes.
A few times, however, I see a black screen with just my mouse

I ran sudo udevadm trigger --action=add --subsystem-match=drm and it
went black and logged me out. On returning I had a crash report, let me
know if you want me to report it (It had the same title as this report)

Here is the lightdm crash. I notice is says I have the 'sleep 5' applied
to lightdm.conf, so I guess this means it crashed when I was booting in
successfully as thats the work around I use to login.

patched hadn't been applied when I originally posted my Xorg logs.

more issues.
Having the Nvidia disabled has worked fine for 11.10, 12.04 and 12.10

Well the guy at Gnome seems a little hostile to be honest. He said he'd
prefer if it was fixed, but I don't see that happening anytime soon as
this has been a bug since 2008 and I doubt it will be fixed for Quantal.
If we want it sorted for Quantal, I guess we should just patch it
ourselves and
I tried to get this sorted out over at Gnome.
Basically the short answer is 'Connect Automatically' does not work
which is why this is marked as 'wishlist'.
