My wireless connection keeps dropping too. I haven't noticed a pattern
yet.

I followed Reint advice and switched to Chromium. It improved things a
lot. My connection now rarely drops.

The behaviour of the network manager seems to have changed sinced my
last comment. Now I actually see the connection dropping and network
manager reconnecting. Previously, the wireless connection would drop but
network manager would tell me that I was still connected.

I had the same bug where network connection was dropping while browsing
and fixing it by reconnecting. My problems where solved by using
chromium in stead of firefox. I can't reafirm this because i downgraded
to 12.04.

I also have the same issue, however if I go under the network manager
and disable the wireless, wait 10 seconds, then enable the wireless I am
reconnected.
I am running 12.10 fully patched on an HP dc7800p with a Trendnet TEW-
423PI PCI wireless card.

I just did a fresh install of elementary OS on my desktop PC. Now I have the
same issue.
I had eOS installed a few days ago, and everything worked normally. Before I
reinstalled, I had Xubuntu 12.10, where everything worked aswell.
My laptop also works flawlessly and is running eOS aswell.
I too have experienced this since the 12.10 upgrade. I have a wirless
switch on the front of my laptop that I switch to the off position for a
few seconds and then back on again and it remakes the connection without
having to log out.

Note that I tried to use WICD instead of network manager and I have the
same issue. The only difference is that WICD tells me that I am
disconnected when my connection drops. Network manager on the other hand
tells me that I am still connected. Reconnecting fixes the issue
(temporarily)

The only difference in my case is disconnecting and reconnecting in
Network Manager makes no difference. Have to log out and back in to
reconnect the connection. But Network Manager shows the WiFi signal is
strong at all times and other devices can use the internet, just my two
12.10 machines
