I for one am still experiencing this issue on saucy. I've also reported my problem to the xf86-video-ati maintainers: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70735 They suggested that in my case it might be caused by Apple EFI and to try re-installing with MBR, but I haven't gotten around
