Title:
[upstream] switching paragraph style changes character
The decision to make the text direction a formatting attribute is a LO's
idiosyncrasy; the text never changes its direction, it is its immutable
semantic property.

AFAIK, the original reporter's preference wasn't ever designed this way
so this is an enhancement request.
Also, nothing changed in:

Both are attributes of the paragraph. Clearly NAB.

Why do you expect attributes to be consistent when switching from one
style to another? If your default paragraph uses a (directly applied)
italic font style it will be removed when switching to any other style.
We could turn this question around and ask what you expect when
switching from one
Italic is a formatting, while text direction is not.

Heiko, that's not exactly true:

Dear Inkbug,
To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,

The bug still manifests if we save attachment 79954 as an ODT rather
than a DOC file.

Inkbug, thank you for attaching the document. This is unreproducible in
Xubuntu Raring. Could you please test for this in Raring via
http://releases.ubuntu.com/raring/ and advise on if this is still
reproducible?

Description:Ubuntu 13.04
Release:13.04
apt-cache policy
Hi!
As I commented above, this is still happenning in Ubuntu 13.04,
LibreOffice 4.0.2.2.
When I open the file, it opens with a line of text going right-to-left.
When I press Ctrl-1, it switches to Heading 1 style, but is now going
left-to-right instead of right-to-left.

Attached an example document.
The document should open with a line of Hebrew and English text going
right to left.
If the style of the text is switched from Text Body to any thing else,
it would switch to left to right.
This is still happening in LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 on Ubuntu 13.04
