ok, I have my answer: the "1.7" specification version happened since Doxia Sitetools 1.7.2: 1.7.1 did have 1.7.1 specification version (see details in [1]) then this skin works perfectly with Maven Site Plugin 3.5.1 (as tested though ITs...) notice: perhaps we should create some documentation

I confirm the issue and the fix I need to cancel the vote, since this issue will hit too many people (through Fluido skin 1.6 or any custom skin that would use this version check feature), and restart a new Doxia Sitetools bugfix release... thank you all for the tests, reports and bugfixes

Hervé, I think we need to stall this release and fix this regression/issue first: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DOXIASITETOOLS-171 Please have a look at my proposed patch. If it is acceptable, we need to roll 1.7.4 and add it to MSITE 3.6. Michael
