Hi everyone,
It's been a long time coming, but a new version of R4Calc is now available
on the OO.org wiki. It's up here:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/R_and_Calc
There's a number of new things here, all of which are discussed in the
change log. The one thing that I'm happiest with is
My apologies! Found it all on page 1160 of the new developers' guide...
Didn't realize I was using the old version prior to this. :)
Thanks,

Also, I submitted a request for CVS access.

All right, then let's go with R4Calc. :) Barring any final comments about

Hi Leonard,
On Friday,
I like R4Calc and would be happy with it.
But if people also like R_Calc (R sub Calc) then I would be really happy.
I think that name is very, very clever. I can see a logo and everything...
It's actually getting me really excited. :)
Okay, so does anyone else feel the same way? If so, let's go
contacted the UX-mailing list today to ask for some guidance on naming
RCalc. [The mailing lists were broken in the last several days, so I
decided to wait until that issue got fixed first.] I hope to get some
useful suggestions.

Hi everyone,
A month since the last release, I figured it was time to let you know
there's a new version. It only contains a few minor changes... One of them
being that error output is a bit more formal now rather than non-existent.

I was wondering about this this morning, and had a few questions...
First, what if we used something like R-Calc or R 2 Calc / R2Calc? So
we just modify the RCalc to something similar but different enough to be OK.

A new version of the add-on is now out... This one focuses specifically on
fixing the bug where the rcall_*.txt files don't load properly for some

From an administrative point of view, I am supposed to stop working as a

I just uploaded the latest version of the add-on... You can download the

This package is a big step forward because you can now visualize data in R
and embed it as an image in the spreadsheet itself. This is

But they're Java add-ins...? So shouldn't they work?
I'm specifically referring to the java/Spreadsheet examples in the SDK.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hi,
I just had a few questions with regards to add-in development... I'll just

integration!)

number of functions that each pass different types of

Hi everyone,
It turns out that JRI (a Java / R interface) is licensed under LGPL, so it
seems this may be an even better option for the R / Calc interface. However,
when using the library, I ran into a weird problem...
I set all my environment variables in such a way that I can easily compile
Hi everyone,
More updates from a weekend of coding!
First, Leonard -- I think an iterator that parses functions and arguments
can actually be built using an UNO add-in. Once the add-in gets the function
call itself, it can use C++ or Java to parse it all and then send it back to
Calc. That's

Hi,
Using the current Java and Python based tools for R (JRI and RPy

framework.
I have to agree with the comments above about making this framework
extensible, potentially by users themselves. I think opening a text area

If you have any questions as well, please do let me know. I look forward to
