Re: [tools-dev] requirements for a Windows build bot and cws box
Hi, 900 € per year sounds reasonable compared to the price for - buying an equivalent machine - rooming - power - bandwith - hardware repairs / upgrades now I understand. The price of 69EUR is not for a hosting only, but for hosting and rent of the hardware. Hmm, then big +1 for the proposal. In our country we strongly separate hosting of own server in the computing center and renting already hosted server owned by the hosting company (either physical or virtual). -- Pavel Janík - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@tools.openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@tools.openoffice.org

Re: [tools-dev] dmake: ERROR: br_gcc3macoxi is a wrongly used dependency identifier!
You're right, they should be built on 'u' only, so please don't change to 'all'. Instead, specify 'u' in the dependencies, too: brbridges\source\cpp_uno\gcc3_macosx_universalnmake -ubr_gcc3macoxu br_gcc3macoxi.u br_gcc3macoxp.u NULL Works perfectly. Thanks. Re: [tools-dev] bridges: building more directories in source/cpp_uno/...
Hi, I probably misunderstand something, but isn't almost the whole tree (except gcc3_foo) shared? How do you handle that? yes, it is. But it is not a problem there, because it can be compiled to universal binary in one step without problem. Exactly this except gcc3_foo is a problem because the logic says none needs to compile more than one of these directories. Except on Mac OS X when you need to compile both intel and powerpc directories and this is the source of my problems. -- Pavel Janík - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [tools-dev] Suggestion for milestones tagging and buildfixes
Every arch, once build, will return a go. All go means everything is ok. For every build break, a fix will be integrated on HEAD : *average delay for a P1 fix is less than a day* . Really harmless IMHO. Once all archs are ok the next milestone is tagged (even milestone) And this even milestone is not going to be thoroughly approved by builds? P1 fix for Windows can bring P1 problem for Mac OS X... This can't work as described. Problems: too many milestones. If milestone is OK - we will skip the next one? Is there any timeout? Is e.g. Solaris/SPARC team able to reply in certain time? I think that these problems (yes, there are problems - we all know it and acknowledge it) are not that problematic. But this is only my opinion, I know I'm used to solve them so they are not so difficult for me and I think that they can be hard to solve for newcomers. Compared to other projects of such scale, OOo is much better in handling them because of milestones. We should spend some time on identification of such problems, separate them into classes and try to solve the original problems: - builds from scratch issues (Hamburg RE simply can't build from scratch because of storage, CPU, speed, etc.) - 64bit issues (we do not have buildbot for Linux/x86_64 yet?) - platform specific issues - compiler specific issues Buildbots can help solving most of them... Tag early what is to be built, fire buildbots on the tag which is not yet ready. I see the main problem with buildbot admins - it is easy to setup the buildbot, but it is not that easy to run it properly. -- Pavel Janík [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [tools-dev] build's html page enhanced
From: Vladimir Glazounov [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Fri, 16 Dec 2005 13:37:36 +0100 Hi, with integration of the buildstatushtml2 CWS, the build's html page generation process got some improvements. Please, cast a look. Just update the workspace to revision SRC680_m146. I finally had the time to look at it. Good work! I'd like to ask though, how to incorporate it into my build system. What I'd like to is to have one complete build log from the complete build. You save the logs to module/*.pro/misc/logs/*txt. Can you please also add a switch to turn on output again so build's output is the same as without --html switch? Right now, --html switch turns on echoing of directories only and mkout's first line output and if there is a problem or if I would like to check individual options used to compile files, I have to go to the respective log file which is inconvenient for me. I only had a small issue with it. I often use Enter instead of clicking OK in the form to submit the form. It doesn't work properly in the Refresh rate(sec): field in the form. After entering e.g. 2 in the input field end pushing Enter key, the top-level window is empty. It works if I press OK button though. -- Pavel Janík An algorithm must be seen to be believed. -- D.E.
