I think we can call it official users mailing list :)

Thank you, now I understood what's new in the announcement.
Congratulations then!

[native-lang] Japanese Language Project sets up additional user support channel

2011-01-29 Thread Kazunari Hirano
Hi all,

On Jan. 28th OpenOffice.org Japanese Language Project announced that
it set up users at ja.openoffice.org
http://ja.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=announcemsgNo=408

Users at Ja.OpenOffice.org is a mailing list where Japanese
OpenOffice.org users can share their knowledge and help each other.
http://ja.openoffice.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/JA/Marketing/OpenOffice.org_Deployments
As this list shows, various kind of users, enterprises users and local
governments users are increasing, we see that user support has become
more important and we need to prepare additional channel where user
can easily question and get answers.

If you like forum, you go to the community forum.
http://user.services.openoffice.org/ja/forum/

If you like mailing list, now you can go to the users mailing list.

Thanks,
khirano

Great! But, just out of curiosity, what had you been using so far? I
mean, the Japanese N-L group is definitely not new and it is quite
active, so I had assumed you had had a users mailing list for years.
Maybe you were using a forum, or IRC, or some other tools?

Re: [native-lang] Japanese Language Project sets up additional user support channel

2011-01-29 Thread Kazunari Hirano
Hi Andrea,

Because there was a Japanese OpenOffice.org users group before
OpenOffice.org Japanese Language Project was formed, and the group had
a mailing list outside of OpenOffice.org project. We had had used the
mailing list as a users mailing list but the group became independent
from OpenOffice.org Japanese Language Project and owned the mailing
list as the group's mailing list, then we stopped using it as an
OpenOffice.org Japanese Language project mailing list.

Now what we have created is Users at Ja.OpenOffice.org within the
OpenOffice.org project :)
http://ja.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectMailingListList
I think we can call it official users mailing list :)

Thanks,
khirano
