RE: devel Digest, Vol 127, Issue 2

2017-03-10 Thread José Héctor Galimberti
Anyone with C and kannel knowledge can do such modification to at least get
equally balanced traffic to all available smsc’s I think that can be better
than actual behavior of using more the first one.

Hello,

Probably "long smsc2_rout(Msg *msg, int resend)" needs to be modified for this.

  Feature #47: [PATCH] Weighted
round-robin SMS load balancer - Kannel - Kannel: Open Source WAP and SMS gateway

redmine.kannel.org

Redmine

I see that the actual behavior its: (Quoted from:
http://www.kannel.org/pipermail/users/2012-April/017647.html)

"I believe the "load balance" happens only in the sence that if one bind is
busy sending an SMS and a new request comes, instead of queuing it, it goes
to the second bind of the same name, rather than doing "round-robin" load
balancing which seems to be what most people expect/assume. If your send
rate is fairly low, then most messages will leave via the 1st bind."

It would be nice to have a real load balancing between smsc's

Hi Jose,

Please check out https://github.com/donald-jackson/kannel-pluginbox (read
README carefully)

1) If you have an HTTP application that can perform these tasks (routing, etc)
you can already do this with pluginbox + the HTTP plugin.

The plugin is written to deal with requests in an asynchronous/callback fashion
so it should only be limited by the speed of your HTTP application in terms of
performance.

Good luck,

Donald

Yes, i think on at least 2 features that I can do in my current implementation
of kannel

1.- Dynamic Prefix routing with database, now kannel only accepts regular
expressions and that is not enough for all countrys, at least not for Mexico

2.- All sort of dynamic filtering routing features with database configuration

switching based on string matching / dynamic blacklisting

Hope to see it soon there

No, i cannot solve the issue myself, im switching to HTTP for this type of
sendings without problems, so its an OPENSMPPBOX issue.
I dont know whats the exact procedure to report this to the developers, so
we can get help, i can colaborate on testing the solution.
Maybe adding a request like this:
https://kannel.org/issues/645
https://kannel.org/issues/710

I reply on the last but doesnt seems to be much news on that...

Another solution its to move to the Commercial smppbox

I originally reported the issue to get some user response..

http://www.kannel.org/pipermail/users/2014-May/021133.html

I thought the issue had gone away but seems to be reoccurring more often as
traffic volumes increase.

As I accept all messages on the platform I haven’t moved forward from this.
I have a watchdog script watching my opensmppbox port for when it goes down
and automatically restarting but this is not the solution.

I'm trying to isolate the specific messages again if I can catch it.

Lee

Hi im having this issue, im think its related to this ones:

It happends after receiving some long (concatenated multipart) messages

I have tried this patch without success, but now i have some more beatiful
debug of the messages.

I attache the relevant part of the panic and the addr2line as sugested on
the previous report of crash.

Hi im having this issue, im think its related to this ones:

http://www.kannel.org/pipermail/users/2014-May/021126.html

http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mobile.kannel.user/31936

http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mobile.kannel.user/32374

It happends after receiving some long (concatenated multipart) messages

I have tried this patch without success, but now i have some more beatiful
debug of the messages.

I attache the relevant part of the panic and the addr2line as sugested on
the previous report of crash.

DLR-MO get queued on store until restart

2015-06-09 Thread José Héctor Galimberti
Hi im having this issue, im getting some DLR-MO queued on the store, and
they dont get out until i restart kannel.

My scenario:

I have two kannel boxes (tried svn-r5143M and 1.4.4, both giving me same
results)

From the point of view of the receiving DLRS i think this is the path:
CUSTOMER =(opensmppbox) KANNEL1 (smsc smpp) = (opensmppbox) KANNEL2
(smsbox http generic) = PHP

PHP inyecting DLR calling http://127.0.0.1:13015/sms?username=
http://127.0.0.1:13015/sms?username=password=dlr-mask=1dlr-mid=X
-XXX-X-X
password=dlr-mask=1dlr-mid=X-XXX-X-X

I put log level at 0 on everywere, do some wireshark traces also, and i
cannot figure out why im having this issue.

I have this example:

lynx -dump http://localhost:13000/store-status?password=XX;

SMS ID Type TimeSender
ReceiverSMSC ID BOX ID UDH Message
5168f8be-8f3b-45e5-9e23-5731f99e22c9 DLR-MO 2015-06-09 22:34:13 XX

ae26e4cd-041d-4ee1-a884-435483caa6f7SMPP

I ask the file for time:
ls --full-time ./75/5168f8be-8f3b-45e5-9e23-5731f99e22c9
-rw--- 1 kannel nogroup 275 2015-06-09 22:34:13.110916048 -0500
./75/5168f8be-8f3b-45e5-9e23-5731f99e22c

And search that time on the logs to see if i found something:

grep 22:34:13 /var/log/kannel/*.log
