For GTK+ 3 applications, there's only one choice at this time: Adwaita, the
default theme from GNOME 3.
It is disturbing though that Fedora 15/Rawhide do not provide a GTK2
engine matching the GTK3 Adwaita look to make the appearance of
respective applications

x86_64: plain and sse2
This does not look good to me, because the x86-64 instruction set only
includes sse2. sse3 is not available on every amd64 processor and thus
should not be used by default. The maintainer should rather build the

Have you tried to update to the latest branch version? Today I updated

You have to downgrade your system to

accountsservice-0.6.3-3.fc15
libcanberra-0.27-1.fc15

libcanberra? What makes you think lc is involved here?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680605 ← that doesn't really
suggest any libcanberra involvement.
You are correct, the cited workaround from bug 680605 was partially
superfluous: downgrading

Btw, I think the GNOME 3 roll-out in Fedora should be all or nothing,
that means, no *competing* fallback mode that tries to keep old panel
features alive.
Currently, the suspend-resume cycle is broken even on mainstream
hardware e.g. using the r300g driver. Forcing

I am running the x86_64 flavours of fully updated F14 and the current
Fedora development tree on a system which is equipped with a Radeon

broken, e.g. glxgears only shows a black window, and when mutter is
the default compositor/wm,

Is this a regression? Those are definitely a priority. Have you
tried a nightly live image to see if the bug is fixed in our

As a matter of fact this issue affects F14 up to the very latest
Fedora development tree which I had used for a few weeks

So that presumes a switch to the Shell?
Today's nightly desktop spin boots correctly, launching GOME starts
with gnome-shell being active. However, it is possible to fire up
metacity, and the desktop then works fine, too. ~C

Some time ago, the Fedora default target for 32 bit Intel system moved
from i386 (F10) via i586 (F11) to i686 (F12). Nevertheless, even the
current development repo contains recent builds ending with
*.fc15.i386.rpm. Is there a particular reason for these exceptions or
has the build target been

Just for clarity, which recent builds are that?
Recent means obviously those carrying an fc15 tag. No package later
than those built for F11 should be of type i386 at all. ~ C
