Hi.  I've been testing 4.3.99.901 and current HEAD a bit for an
"embedded" thing I'm working on.  And I've noticed something strange:
When using the vesa driver, the server doesn't completely reset the
graphics adapter on server exit, no text is visible on the screen
until after a VT switch.  This is under Linux 2.4.23 on x86.

This isn't generally the case for other drivers (at least none that
I've found), and I've found this behaviour on both machines I've tried
so far (one Via CLE266 and one Matrox Mystique).  I guess running the
Xserver on the same VT as it is launched from (which prevents the
implicit vt-switch on exit) isn't all that common.

(I'll try to get some more data on this during the weekend, just
thought I'd give a heads-up in case someone remembered making this
change on purpose. :)
