How can ARRL profess to be in the business of suggesting bandplans that all of

2. They have twice attempted to get the FCC to pass regulations favoring the 1%

The problem is with your receiver design, which was designed for SSB and CW
using AGC to keep the audio output level more or less constant with RF input
and prevent blasting by strong signals when listening to weak signals.
It is not necessary to listen to digital modes, since they are
I believe the problem is that transceiver's used for digital service are still
designed, not for digital service, but for SSB and CW in which AGC is used:
1. To prevent blasting by strong signals when you are trying to hear weak
ones.
2. To protect the last IF amplifiers and detector from

Using a mono plug on the Mic input of the soundcard is no
problem.
Using a mono plug on the soundcard speaker output shorts the
two channels and can burn out the audio amp. Been there - done
that!

Dan,
The waterfall colors are a function of audio input to the soundcard. Blue is
the lowest
level and yellow or red is the highest level. Sounds like you have lost your
audio input.
Maybe the wrong audio input is selected on Configure/Waterfall drive or the
sliders are too
low, or the audio

By distributing callers across multiple scanned frequencies, the
incidence of multiple callers colliding on a single frequency is
reduced. Such collisions prevent the PMBO from connecting with any
of the competing callers, increasing time-from-request-to-
connection. If the callers cannot

While such an increase may reduce the time-from-
request-to-connection for Winlink users, its wrong to do this by
inconveniencing other operators -- unless, or

Does anybody here understand the application of Erlang B?
I have put forth a suggestion on QRZ.COM that the scanning Winlink PMBO's do
serves to prevent a user from discerning if a PMBO is busy or not before
taking up a frequency and calling repetitively to find out.

try the following. It works for me, and I can't guarantee it will work for

I think the principle is valid and can be adapted to your system.

With all due respect, (and you have considerable), it seems that some of the

Here is what I have found so far:
1. I had to revert all the way back to KNOPPIX 3.3, which has an earlier
version of Wine,
because with the later ones, there is no scrolling and no scroll bars on
DigiPan!
Using apt-get install Wine does not work, because the stable version of Wine

I found a simple answer to pretty fonts when using Wine. Just go to here:

Harv,
The Hamshack Hack version 0.3 you sent me works OK and detects my Soundblaster
soundcard.
It is based on KNOPPIX version 3.7.
Versions 0.4 and 0.5 do not detect the soundcard, and both of those are based
on KNOPPIX
3.8.
I also ran KNOPPIX version 3.3 and it detected the soundcard.
So,
Stan,
I have created one that does exactly what you want, designed to
boot up running gMFSK, Xlog, and HamLib with just one click of a
button.
There is also a version of a German CD, AFU-KNOPPIX, in German,
that someone has remastered for English, that has more ham radio
programs but that one
