Andy,
Some great ideas there. I had also suggested a couple months ago the idea of a
universal CQ mode that could be an extension of the RSID/CallID that Patrick
has developed. The software should include S/N measurement that can be used to
suggest some the possible modes to switch to for

Andy,

Yes, it does run in Vista Home Premium. Although there is no option for
selecting the sound card, I was able to put the computer mic by the radio
speaker and decode a few signals last night. It was surprising since there
were many CW signals in the same space.

Wes,
Welcome to the digital modes. 1967 was a good year - I was also first licensed
in '67.
This web site has some interesting information about digital modes.

An important parameter is the mean/peak power ratio for each of the modes.
I forgot to mention...
I feel a little guilty when running 50 watts on PSK31 now. In the past 6
months I have logged over 50 QSOs including Japan and Europe (both 5000
miles) with less than 1 watt. It takes a little more patience but it has been
a real eye-opener to discover what can be
Very interesting, Andy. I had not noticed the RX RS ID button on the SDR
window or the RS ID configuration window.
Patrick,
Is there a way to keep the RS ID window open while using the RX/TX screen? Is
there any other notification of the RS ID detection when using the RX/TX window?
www.buxcomm.com has a lot of interface cables. I wonder if they would consider
adding this to their product line - or make custom order cables.
I built a set of cables from a pair of 8-pin mini-din cables. I cut the cables
in half and put 13-pin, 8-pin DIN and 5-pin DIN connectors on the

capabilities that SDR opens up can't possibly be one-person projects.

Interesting comments, Andy.
My goal is also to be able to monitor all the digital portions of the band and
to be able to spot all call signs in any mode across the band. CW Skimmer is a
good model for that. In addition, it would nice to be able to select a few
segments of the band (~5
Danny,
I use fldigi with a TS-2000 using the TS-570.xml file. The settings under
Fldigi Configuration:Rig:RigCAT are:
Use RigCAT: checked
Rig Description file: TS-570.xml
Retries: 2
Retry Interval (ms): 50
Command Interval (ms): 5
RTS/CTS Flow Control: checked
Device: COM9
Baud rate: 57600
Andy,
The TS-570 XML file works fine on my TS-2000 with RigCat.

Patrick,
I am unable to download from your web site. Is there a North American site
that I can download it from?
Thanks,

Andy,
I built a Softrock RXTX V6.3 earlier this year. It does take some reading to
understand what is offered and what is required/available for each kit. It is
not really a business - the guys design the radios and offer the kits for
little more than the cost of the parts. I think it is
