THANKS to everyone for your help, ideas and suggestions.
I tried a couple of options, first trying my newesh ASUS laptop (6 months),
this worked well and there was hardly any noise on the radio, s-meter hardly
moved and was fully usable.
I then tried improving the desktop, added

You can try to put a filter between the pc and the power outlet in the
