I figured out that it is related to Joomla CMS. The call was somehow also
making it to load the direct page for the component I have the database
insert command. I , through the plugin, was only using a function in this
file to insert into
No matter which plugin I try for inline editing,I always get double entries
saved in my mysql database. I wonder why is so happening. Seems to me a
basic mistake I am doing. Does anyone know what am I doing wrong before I
post in detail.

did you get 2 requests on the server? check the logs.
is one from a form and one from ajax? are you playing with a bind on the
submit that doesn't return false to stop the normal form submit?
