Guys,
I have a question on the methodology for personas -
I'm doing a project right now that we are trying to fastrack and get off the
ground by doing some collaborative brainstorming with the product marketing
folks. We haven't done any user research, have no budget for such research, we
Just to clarify, this is more of a concept piece, not an actual product. We are

preferably in Illustrator or Visio, Omnigraffle works too I guess.
I looked on the archives and didn't see any threads on this topic.

When I'm really focused, I listen to Rammstein. I work in a small office and
sometimes they are a little too loud, so I find that Rammstein drowns out
everything. I don't know why I like it, I just do.
Besides Rammstein, lately it's been musicals: Cats, Chicago, Cabaret, etc. I

Loved Ray Kurzweil's the Singularity - I think we'd all be out of jobs if all

The tablet is on the left (I am left handed with writing) and the trackball is
on the right (I use a mouse with my left hand).

I know that somebody has posted UCD processes diagrams on the web but can't

Any ideas?

I'm trying to figure out how to turn my freelance work into a sustainable
business,
I'd love to see a reputable university come up with a killer online MFA or MS
degree in interaction design, preferably something like Carnegie Mellon, NYU or
Stanford and something that's part time. There's other programs online for
computer engineering---why not interaction design?

I'd argue that the Bay area is affordable and one can buy a home (given the
current real estate market here), though your comfort level will not be as good
as other areas in the country and you're going to make sacrifices about areas
where you'd like to live versus areas where you can afford to
Getting older, having babies, networking and finding jobs through informal

I'd create target personas and then find target devices that the personas would
use. Go interview students and find out what phones they are using.
Also, if you are forecasting out, look at what phones are coming out in the
next year that also fit your personas.
I'd recommend creating a
