Scripting is a much easier and faster way to process a large number of
files - once you write the script.
You can drive Photoshop using Javascript. The Adobe ExtendScript
Toolkit comes with CS3 and CS4. It supports writing scripts as well
as anything I've used.

Thanks, everyone, for all the suggestions!
I managed to quickly pull it off with Alok's suggestion of Canvas Resize and
Actions in CS4. I figured out through brute force the values of the
height/width needed to move the x,y position to 0,0 so I could crop
appropriately the image area I needed.

Depends on which tool you are using IIRC. If you are
Hi folks -
I have about 30 screen shots that I need to crop at exactly the same x,y
location and with exactly the same dimensions. Actions in CS4 is failing
(not passing x,y origin but passing dimensions - UGH). Any tips on how to do
this another way?
Thanks,
Lisa
Try File/Automate/Fit Image..

I think you can use the Adobe Bridge to nav to the files and select the ones
you want to apply the automation to.

Lisa,
I have not used CS4, but one way I can think is use two step cropping
using Canvas size. You can first trim the canvas from left and top
(same as x,y coordinates) and then again change canvas size trimming
right and bottom part of the image.
Cheers

Before CS4 and I think even CS3 I would open all the source files in one
window and then drag them as a folder into the target canvas size window,
position the with the rule of

Try GraphicConverter... the interface is rough but it will do a lot
of automated graphics processing and I believe it is shareware
.

Hi Lisa,
Fast Stone Photo Resizer 2.7 is a free tool you can download. It
offers batch cropping under advanced options. I have never used it
for cropping but it is an excellent tool for batch adjustments.
Best of luck,
