Ok, I've been digging and I am having an issue where Coldfusion (and
possibly the underlying java) is having to time out when trying to
resolve a DNS entry before it looks in my hosts file. I have verified
through ping that my machine is using the hosts file correctly however
when it comes to CF

Ajas, just to clarify: if all you wanted was to test some JSP pages, you
never needed to bother with the second install. The base version you
installed would have worked. (JSPs can be run by CF in the Enterprise, but
not the Standard, edition. That's about editions, not how it's installed.

Hi,
I was looking around to find code for calling a DTS package from cfm
page. I found this code below. I am able to connect and everything but I
would like to see the status of DTS package execution not just individual
steps. I got the individual steps there status codes by adding some code
Just to clarify:
A VIP, or Virtual IP, is usually an IP address on a router or
firewall that is presenting services (HTTP,FTP,etc.) for one or more
other IP addresses behind a firewall.

I just updated our JDBC drivers to the latest 3.5 versions for testing out
in a dev instance. We are planning to move to Oracle 10g next Q. A
developer is seeing some errors with a query using GROUP BY GROUPING SETS.
The error is

ah, I see now. Hence the use in LB setups. danke.

Hmm... since this is only failing on my local box it really isnt worth
the effort... works fine in dev using the hosts file on solaris. Just
breaks locally on my mac.

Can you share a sample of sql statement causing the error? Thanks.

Ajas,
I would not really approach DTS tracking just from a COM package. SQL
Server stores all of the information about a DTS package, the execution,
steps and failures in the master DB.
Create a read-only user to connect to your SQL Server's master DB and then
just start exploring all of the
Dang... now that's some serious sql spaghetti. While I don't see
anything in the documentation for 9.2 regarding limits on grouping sets,
it might not hurt to consider
using the cube or rollup group statement keywords,

if only you knew the meatball. :) passed the info along. thanks. We are
able to execute this in Toad, SQL+, PL/SQL Developer, and SQL Developer.
SQL Developer uses JDBC, so seems its related to teh 3.5 version of the data
direct drivers.

One last thought. If it works in toad just create or replace myViewName
as select... and then select from the view in your cfquery.

I know, I know, RTFM, but it has walked off. What does GROUP BY GROUPING
SETS do for you?
Are you sure that's a query, and not a novel in some foreign language?

From TFM...
GROUPING SETS
GROUPING SETS are a further extension of the GROUP BY clause that let
you specify multiple groupings of data. Doing so facilitates efficient
aggregation by pruning the aggregates you do not need. You specify just
the desired groups, and Oracle does not need to perform
Hi there,
Looks like today is DB day. I want to develop a feature

Ajas, does it really need to be tab-delimited? Or is comma-separated (CSV)
ok?
The latter is available at the cflib.org site, a great site with pre-written
solutions to common problems. It has a search area, and searching for CSV
found these:
