A simpler solution is to make a small change (to activate the save
icon) immediately after loading and then save the file. Once it has
been saved by hand, autosaving no longer does any harm. I can't
remember who discovered this but it was notified on this list, and I
have never lost images since I
Hi :)
If it's been working for you then it obviously does work quite comprehensively.
I don't remember it from this list but there is tons of stuff that i miss or
don't remember. That does sound like a much better answer too.

Hi :)
A few days ago Florian sent around a Happy Birthday message to a lot of teams
but seemed to accidentally forget a few. Clearly he met you chaps and ladies
so i thought i would pass it on.
Many regards (and a bit of awe at how much you do) from
Tom :)

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

That is easy to say and I do agree about backing up regularly, but when
I am deep into work, I sometimes lose track of time and it is difficult
for me to regularly come out of that and save. In fact, this crash
happened when I saved! I agree that sometimes it is irritating to wait
Greetings,
I am about to create a figure in Draw for one of the Base Guide
documents. I can either create an external Draw file and insert that
file into the document, or I can use the embedded (OLE) Draw version and
have the figure embedded in the document. The former requires the Draw
Hi :)
Fwiw my thought would be OLE but keep a copy of the original youself and if
possible find somewhere useful to upload the file to so that editors can find
it again if something does go wrong.
Would it be a good idea for someone to set-up a wiki-page (or few) to put all
the screenshots
Tom,
Those are all good ideas. We are back to backups again.
I was wondering about the screenshots myself. The other day, I had the
opportunity to look at the old Getting Started guide and noticed the
Base screenshots there just seemed nicer than the ones in the Base Guide
I am working on.

p.222-3. Bad list format. f) and g) should be a) and b).
p.231. Click the Tolls control... This should not be bulleted as it
is not part of the bulleted list

I totally agree.
Funny, the save icon activation described is very similar to what I
experience when I change the template. Once changed, I must immediately
save the document, close it, reload it and then I can continue. If I
edit the document after the template change without going through
