[DQSD-Users] Parser limitation on fields with digit names?

2004-01-12 Thread Tom Corcoran
I am writing a search for a page with elements :

input type=hidden name=0 value= /
input type=hidden name=1 value= /
input type=hidden name=3 value= /

in the standard switch( args.switches[j].name ) block
switch( args.switches[j].name )
the line
case from: document.mysearchf.0.value = value; break;
gives an error expected ';'. I can change the 0 to another field with a
sensible name and it loads fine. Is this a limitation of the parser?

Thanks, Tom.

RE: [DQSD-Users] Parser limitation on fields with digit names?

2004-01-12 Thread Kim Gräsman
Hi Tom,

Yeah, JavaScript, like many other languages, doesn't allow variable/type
names beginning with a digit.
I'm no JS-head, but I think you can use getElementByName instead;

document.mysearchf.getElementByName(0).value = value;

But I'd try a jsref search on that to be sure :)

Hope that helps,
Kim

Similarly, should also be able to do this to:

document.mysearchf[0].value = value;

(where mysearchf is the form name)

Seach searches/*.xml for ].value to see some examples.

[DQSD-Users] dictionarypop feedback

2004-01-12 Thread Tom Corcoran
Hi Kim,

I'm wondering why dictionarypop innocuous finds nothing?

Note, there is a spare '' in the popup message window towards the bottom.

Cheers - Tom.

Hey Tom,

 I'm wondering why dictionarypop innocuous finds nothing?

 towards the bottom.

Honestly, I have no idea how DictionaryPop works, I'm just glad I managed to
build the release...
Maybe Thad (who wrote it) can fill in some gaps...

It does seem strange.

Best wishes,
Kim
