Iam newbie to dspace and would like to experiment it.
I have already installed all the required software based on the dspace 1.5
manual released this month.When I try to install jdk 6 , the documentation
files wasnt installed , the I got the following message:

I got it!
It is necessary that Tomcat can create files in [dspace]/assetstore/.
After changing the ownership of it to the user 'tomcat', everything is fine.

Bill, I believe your compiler is telling you that it can't compile the
code using java version 1.3 rules. You are either running an old java
1.3 for your DSpace or there's a -source 1.3 rule somewhere.

to a Bitstream from PROPFIND (depth=1) on an Item, then you ought to be able
to do a GET on it and receive its contents.
