Hi Everyone,
I have installed Dspace 1.5.2 with JSPUI interface.
I am admin.
I want to create E-PERSON for our staff from ADMINSTER.
But in create E-Person , there is no column for default password or like
that.
So, how can members login ?

Summarizing back to the list, the fix was to do the following

Hi community members,
I was trying to explore the support of Z.39 and SRU/W in DSpace.
Could any of you please provide me some information on the same?
I appreciate any response from your side.

Hi all,
I have a doubt about searching metadata in DSpace.
We currently have one community with items that have
dc.description metadata, and there isn't a search index specific to this
metadata. However, the results can still be found via simple search, so I
Sorry about this, but I have made a mistake and dc.description is actually
indexed. Still, the problem remains because you can only search it via the
generic search (ANY), and specific search yields the correct results (as I
said, in titles, for example).
Thanks and sorry again.

Thanks Stuart and Kim for your answers. Given the stemming issue, is there any
way, via syntax or options, etc to get results for propeller without getting
results for propellant?
Thanks again!

You're correct. You cannot set a password for an eperson even if you are an
Administrator.
I don't know if this is the proper way to do it, but once you define a new
eperson, you can let them know to click on Forgot password on the site and
from there they can set an initial password. They

I've been maintaining my SRU interface to DSpace here:

I see signs that it also available as part of the DSpace Maven stuff,
but I have no idea how current that is or how you access it.

Thanks. That worked.
Two more questions though if I may. How do you change the font size of the
header text?
Also, if you were to put an image, say a logo, on the header, where do you
start doing that?

I am working on a new theme for our instance of DSpace 1.5.2, and
editing the files directly in the test installation's [dspace]/webapps/
xmlui/ directory, which is where Tomcat is pointed to load localhost:

Hi Hardik,
A normal export will export all of the items concerned, with all of
their metadata. The export could be edited and re-imported back into the
repository to update items.
The migrate export option will do the same, expect it removes any
system-generated metadata such as handle,
Hi Shane,
Try removing the folder $CATALINA_HOME/work/Catalina/localhost/xmlui. It will
probably solve your problem.
