I have been deploying DSpace 4.2 on unix and I am having issues
integrating with our gmail server.
When I try to create to update a user I get the following error:
javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException
at
username ,that includes
the gmail domain name. I suggest you use
mail.server.username=usern...@gmail.com or whatever address you might be
using.

If this property is missing, then it is unable to be specified in the
final dspace.cfg file, and 'ant' will throw an error similar to what you've

[dspace@BTNYSLDVA01 dspace-4.2-build]$ ant fresh_install

I was able to resolve the issue.
The problem was that the /home/dspace/DSpace-dspace-4.2/dspace/modules
was owned by root and needed to be changed to dspace.
