Hi,
I ran batch import via Simple Archive Format for my DSpace install since I
had over 6000 items from other phased out repositories, however, most of the
items lacked files attached to them.
As you browse through the items in the collections you encounter There are
no files linked to this item.
Hi people,
My organization works from remote areas that have limited internet access,
so I have been tasked with finding out if we can export our entire
repository to say a DVD, that will be issued to field agents, and they can
browse content without requiring internet access. Is this possible?

No, keep /browse allowed. You need a way to get to those items and
browse doesn't contain the same item more than once, whereas
/search-filter or /discover (whichever you use) are redundant to
/browse.
Got it! Thank you. This issue is now closed!

Hi all,
Is there a way to have a link to the website for a collection appearing in
the sidebar menu?
Such that as you switch between the collections, you can have a link to the
collection's website or page under the context section?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi All,
I have searched on how to remove the search box that appears on the home
page and on all the collections but the answers I got were not tailored to
the Mirage theme
As shown below, how can I remove the search box in Mirage, so that I am left
with only the search panel on the right hand
Hi Helix84,
Thanks for the swift reply, however, I placed that snippet in my theme's xsl
but the search box still appeared. I have not setup Discovery as yet, I
don’t know if this could be the issue, what I meant is that I wanted it
completely gone, so that the only search form is the one on the
I have cleared the cache severally, but the search box wont disappear, the
Browse By section becomes hidden but causes the side panel to collapse,
I wonder if this has something to do with the http://scholar.sun.ac.za/
SunScholar Theme , which is actually a very good theme to build upon that is

No actually this collapse happens even with the default Mirage theme, even
after cache

Right, here's a correction. The complete customization should be:
xsl:template name=quot;disable_front-page-searchquot;
match=quot;dri:div[@id='aspect.lt;bdiscovery*.SiteViewer.div.front-page-search']
/xsl:template
xsl:template name=quot;disable_collection-searchquot;
Is there any other way to implement this structure without having require
DSpace 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 because I had initially setup DSpace 1.8.2 and it is
live, and I just got a request for this feature, and it seems to be a big
deal. Can I modify some files to get this to work? Thanks

Hi,
I need the same functionality in my Mirage theme, did you ever find the
solution??
Thanks

I think its coz I unsubscribed frm the tech mailing list and am using Nabble
to post, but I solved the issue, the incomplete import was being caused by
the fact that some files had their extensions removed from them eg
Document1.pdf becomes Document1. and also in the content file, this could be

What version of DSpace are you using?
And please send us a link to your repo.
Hi Guys,
I managed to make most of the customizations, thanks to your help and here

one last thing though...I have been racking

I just checked and the reason why you're getting a blank page is that
you instructed Tomcat to make the XMLUI webapp available at the
/xmlui URL. It seems this theme assumes that XMLUI is bount to the
root URL: /. You can change this Context configuration in server.xml
This worked, sorry for the delayed reply, I however realize that this issue
was more to do with Tomcat rather than DSpace itself, and since I was trying
to study the workings of this theme so that I can have the power to modify
my own Mirage I landed into a couple of other issues. I am afraid to
that you removed search, could you please give me a clue as to how to put it
back or maybe a hint on how to further customize the theme? (in terms of how
to move stuff around)..I hope that is not very general though.
Thanks

We did a mod
Thanks so much,
I am referring to the SUNScholar theme found in the zipped file here
http://web.lib.sun.ac.za/style/sunscholar/http:// HERE
I noticed that upon installing the theme and searching, it loads a blank
page and not the search result. I also noticed that the url it produces is
over for the solution. I noticed you

Thank you, this is the reason for the blank page, I am not used to the Tomcat
environment at all, so I apologise if this is just too obvious. Thanks
again.

Hi Mark,
