I'm using Dspace 1.8.2 using patch here:

I'm using Rubycas-server here: http://code.google.com/p/rubycas-server/,
and running over https.
My dspace is at http://dspace:8080.
I'm using keytool to import the casserver.pem into trusted store of Tomcat.
But the dspace error occured at the serviceValidate phase with dspace.log
error is:
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 422 for URL:
