I want to add metadata fields to allow our search to retrieve
information from the following 3 fields School, Faculty and Degree
name.
For example when student type computer science it should pick all the
theses loaded under the school of computer science etc.

The proposed modification is a several step process .
1. Have the metadata included in your metadata schema, for example
dc.school or whatever qualifier you use.
2. locate in dspace.cfg the section of configurable browse indexes,
and add a new browse index at the bottom
