[Dspace-tech] Getting more info on an item from handle

I'm using the dspace lucene index to serach dspace externally. I'm able to get the handle to the items I need for the search results but cant get the other info about the item. Is there any Dspace Class I can use to get more info using the handle?

We overwrite the fields that are mastered by our ldap servers each time a user logs in. Of course, the fields may become out of date over time if the user never logs in again. You could write some code to query ldap and manually synchronize the fields if that was a concern. Rafael Henkin
