Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading from Dspace 1.4.2 to 1.5.2, at the same time
moving from Postgresql to Oracle. When I perform an upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5.2
and run the database_schema_142-15.sql on Postgresql the tables history and
history_state are dropped. However, when I do a clean
Hi Damian,
The Initial Questions screen was a basic attempt to do that in that the
metadata collected was in some ways dependant on the answers to the initial
questions. To my mind is was a first step towards a true type based
submission. There was a Google Summer Of Code project this year to
Robin,
Thanks for the reply.
I am using xmlui. And in particular branching based specifically on type is
what I am looking for (although a general branching would be nice). I'd like a
different form to appear depending on the type of document being submitted (say
book vs thesis). Right now
I'm not sure the Initial Questions page will fulfil your needs. A repository
manager would probably be able to give you a better answer but I think it is
mostly just to recognise a preprint as opposed to an already published
article. Depending on your answer you will subsequently be prompted for a

I am a developer.
Would this Google Summer Of Code project eventually be rolled into the DSpace
official release code base? Because I am on a grant and long term I do not want
to hack DSpace as upgrading could be problematic once my grant runs out. This
project may not have a developer
Fabio,
Thanks for your help. That solution didn't work for me, but I figured out the
problem. The lines that directly preceded my section read

table class=ds-includeSet-table
Since it was matching the dim:dim portion of the DIM, I
Jason,
You're welcome.
The following works:
ancestor::mets:METS//mets:fileg...@use='THUMBNAIL']
And also:
ancestor::mets:METS/mets:fileSec/mets:fileg...@use='THUMBNAIL']
But there are probably better solutions.

I just noticed that too, while contemplating a switch from Oracle to
PostgreSQL. The Oracle schema also still has the mets_bitstream_id
column in the Bundle table, which is no longer used and has been
dropped.
I'll start a JIRA issue to fix this.
(OBTW, before you switch over to Oracle,
Mark,
I had a few minutes today, so I worked up a proof of concept based on what you
suggested. It works pretty well. It would have to be adjusted to account for
browser support and the like. Still, you were right. It works.
I posted directions for implementing it on the wiki.
