Hello,
I had upgraded from dspace 1.6.2 to dspace 1.7.0 and found that if an
item had a metadata field with an associated integer value for example:
sc.coordinate.northing have values of say 500, 600, 1000, 400. The metadata
field sc.coordinate.northing was not added to
Sudipta,
You can add as many assetstores in your dspace.cfg file as you need.
See the Configuration Documentation for the format of the configuration:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC/Configuration#Configuration-FileStorage
Please note that only one assetstore is used at a time for new
Hi Thomas,
Have you tried running the update-discovery-index command with the
*-f*option like shown below:
./dspace update-discovery-index -f
By adding the *-f* you are forcing discovery to reindex all your items.
Hope this helps,

I did see something like the second option, which said to basically
comment out the PorterStemFilter.
So my question is, can I eliminate that level of stemming all together.
This is what I
Richard,
Quick Answer: Your suggested changes should not break anything. That
would remove the stemming. Obviously, you would need to rebuild DSpace,
and also reindex all of your content.
As for the philosophical discussion: we are always willing to rethink
past decisions. :)
Stemming has

Dear DSpace community members,
This is to announce the availability of Semantic Search v2.0 for DSpace.
This facility has been refactored as an add-on for DSpace 1.6+. A
preliminary version (v2.0_r1) is now available as a patch in JIRA [1].
Semantic Search allows reasoning-based search and

and we implemented the XMLUI interface as default. Our prior statistics

Almost all searches by almost all users, globally, are done on half a
dozen search platforms (google, bing, etc). These all use extensive
normalisation (stemming, case folding, unicode normalisation, etc) and
doing a fabulous job of teaching their users (and by extension our
users) that this
Assuming you mean 'classic' dspace.log based stats (1.5) and 'solr' stats (1.6)
Yes. Out the box, 1.6+ does this by default. They are completely separate and
have no relation to each other in how they work, or collect / display
statistics. Both work together.
Thanks,

Tim,
I want to report that we successfully turned off stemming on our test
server by commenting out line that calls the Porter Stemming Filter.
Thanks for your help!
I can now search for well, wells, wellness specifically or get
them all (and then some) with well*, or just search (well OR wells)
