We do HTTPS by putting apache HTTPD in front of tomcat. Tomcat works in
pure-HTTP (but is not accessible from the network) and HTTPD proxies tomcat on
HTTP and HTTPS as necessary.

Hi David and all,
Just a note to say we definitely *are* aware there have been issues with
getting the Mirage2 build process to auto-install all dependencies. Some
of those problems are being tracked in this ticket:
https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-2368
Admittedly, I'm not sure we fully
We're using DSpace 5.1 and when we turn on SSL as per the instructions
in the installation documentation then browsing and RSS feeds break.
Looking at the localhost access logs it looks like requests to solr on
127.0.0.1 return a 302 status rather than 200.
Using wget from the command line I'm
Hi David-
I had the same issue with the Mirage 2 build not working unless I
installed the dependencies firstŠ

Hi-
I finally got this working this morning thanks to Alex in the Jira post. It is
odd that the Mirage 2 build doesn’t seem to work unless you download the
dependencies.
Thanks,

Hello everyone.
I'm testing Dspace 5.1 with Mirage2 theme for my institution. We want to
have multilanguage Dspace.
Dspace is running on Tomcat behind Apace mod_proxy. I've created
messages_lang.xml file successfully and I am able to change the language
manually.
I mean if I want to change the
Hello,
thought this was a solved issue (DS-1445).
Have you tested the validation with
http://www.openarchives.org/Register/ValidateSite
There you can validate only (not register).
Maybe it's an issue with the BASE validator. It gives the same error for

Hi all.
I try to validat a dspace 4.1 in http://oval.base-search.net/
I can read in the report obtained after validation (well after trying to

Hello,
the languages or rather locales (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locale) to be used are configurable in
dspace.cfg with webui.supported.locales

Hi George,
Hmmm...it actually looks a bit fishy to me.
You have two Host entries defined, which look to me like they are
loading the same webapps:
1. Host name=localhost is configured to load *everything* under the
webapps subdirectory.
2. Host name=ecommons-test.library.cornell.edu is then

Here are excerpts from my tomcat sever.xml file (again, this works OK under

Dear Dspace Community,
I am running dspace 4.2 and I have problem with item submission. I’m
getting java.lang.NullPointerException sometimes when I am submitting an

I didn't get this error always when submit an item, sometimes It appears

It's really just a matter of preference, it doesn't matter which way
