Here's a very ignorant question:
When we upgraded to 3.2, OAI-PHM was turned on. What does this mean for our
site? Does this open us up even more than we already are to web search engines
or discovery tools? How do applications discover and harvest our collections?
I ask because we have a

If so, what did you do?

Hello,
In filter-media the Word Text Extractor does not process docx, but only doc
files. Is this expected behavior or do I have a problem? In either case, what
is the solution to processing docx files in filter-media.

Hello,
We are testing 1.7.1 and have noticed the following are missing from our
sub-community collection pages:
The Search within this community and its collections section.
The Recent Submissions
Our dspace.cfg is configured appropriately to display recent
submissions.
Any help
I saw a comment a few messages back asking about the same issue, so let
me add my comments support:
When we create custom themes for a subcommunity or collection, there are

I've just read your recent messages at dspace-tech list about some problems

Did you fixed that?

Tim,
Thanks for the response.
The first option isn't an option for because we need to search for

I did see something like the second option, which said to basically
comment out the PorterStemFilter.
So my question is, can I eliminate that level of stemming all together.
This is what I

I want to report that we successfully turned off stemming on our test

Thanks for your help!
I can now search for well, wells, wellness specifically or get

The default stemming algorithm is so heavy handed that it has really
created problems for us and thinking about it over night I realized that
there are a number of other likely problems our users haven't
encountered but will soon.
I need a fairly complete list of steps for disabling stemming.
I have faculty and staff in our medical education department who want an
explanation of why their search for wellness seems to be picking up

In the meantime, can some provide information on how to implement one?

Hello,
I just encountered the handle server error that is part of 1.6.1.
Is there a way to manually start the handle server and get around the
error?
I have to coordinate our upgrade to 1.6.2 with our IT department and
would like to get the handle server running asap.

Hello,
I have been asked about using DSpace to manage a collection of large

Within a theme, is there a way to override a message key from

For example, what if I want to change this:

key=xmlui.ArtifactBrowser.AdvancedSearch.type_titleRecipient/message
David,
